Solitomb Game Guide
Introduction
Solitomb is a unique card-based dungeon crawler that combines elements of solitaire with strategic combat against monsters. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the game effectively.
Getting Started
Game Basics
- You play by building hands of cards to defeat monsters and clear levels in a dungeon
- The game features stacks of cards, some face-up and some face-down, similar to traditional solitaire
Objective
Your goal is to defeat a specific number of monsters or clear pathways to progress through the dungeon levels.
Gameplay Mechanics
Card Types
- Monsters: Represent the enemies you will fight
- Attack Cards: Used to deal damage to monsters
- Shield Cards: Provide defense against incoming damage
- Potion Cards: Restore health or provide bonuses
Building Hands
- You can stack cards up to five in number, where lower-numbered cards can be placed on higher-numbered ones (equal ranks also work)
- To initiate combat, drag your selected stack of cards into your hand
Combat Strategy
Defeating Monsters
- Match the strength of your attack card with that of the monster. For example, to defeat a monster with a strength of 5, use an attack card with a strength of 5 or higher
- To avoid damage, combine attack cards with shield and potion cards strategically
Combos and Bonuses
- Create combos by using cards of the same suit or consecutive ranks for additional damage bonuses
- Be mindful of the demon timer; making too many moves without engaging in combat will cause you to take damage
Resource Management
Health and Patience
- Monitor your health closely as you engage in battles
- The demon's patience decreases with each action, so act quickly to avoid penalties
Character Classes
Before starting a run, choose a character class that grants unique passive abilities and special skills that can influence gameplay.
Between Levels
Shop System
- After clearing a level, visit the shop to purchase new cards and upgrades using gems collected during your run
New Card Types
- As you progress through levels, new card types will be introduced, adding variety and complexity to your strategies
Tips for Success
- Focus on Key Monsters: You don't need to defeat all monsters on every floor; prioritize those that block your path or are objectives for that level
- Utilize Tooltips: Pay attention to in-game tooltips for guidance on card interactions and mechanics
- Experiment with Classes: Try different character classes to find one that suits your playstyle best
- Practice Makes Perfect: The game has a learning curve; don't be discouraged by early defeats as you refine your strategies
